Exactly a year ago came a report that Marvel had planned to make various live-action ten-minute short films which would be used to introduce their lesser known characters to mainstream audiences.
As an idea it makes sense, playing these in front of a main feature (ala Pixar) and the ones that get a great reception could be spun-off into their own feature. However after that initial report we didn’t hear a peep about the venture.
Now, Film School Rejects report that a according to their sources the shorts have already been shot with Clark Gregg reprising his role as Agent Coulson.
The resulting efforts however won’t be going theatrical, instead they are slated to appear on the forthcoming DVD and Blu-Ray releases of “Thor” on September 30th and “Captain America: The First Avenger” at the end of the year.
As Marvel isn’t at Comic Con this year, the first place the shorts could likely screen is the D23 Expo in August.
