Marvel CCO On New “Spider-Man” Costume

With Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it means it’s time for the webslinger to score a new suit – one different from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s various versions and yet still identifiably Spider-Man.

Appearing at Comic Con this week, Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada has offered a tease about actor Tom Holland’s new outfit, telling IGN it “looks awesome” and saying: “I’ve seen a lot of design work that’s been done on the costume. I think there are elements of it that are really going to blow people away where they are going to go ‘Ah, that’s Marvel doing Spider-Man.”

Asked about the kind of web shooters the suit will sport, Quesada only said: “wait for the announcements, things will be revealed as they are meant to be revealed.” He is however excited about the direction they intend to go: “He is the icon of so much of what we have was built upon, so to create that movie along with our Sony partners it’s phenomenally exciting. I know Kevin Feige and his team have some great ideas. Some wonderful theories that we have all chimed in on.”

Our first look at Spider-Man’s new outfit isn’t expected to be shown until the full theatrical release of “Captain America: Civil War” next year at the earliest.
