Marvel Announces “Ant-Man 2,” Three More Films

Marvel Studios are shifting around their plans for their third phase with the announcement of a new film joining the line-up – “Ant-Man and the Wasp”.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will reprise their roles of Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne respectively in the follow-up to this Summer’s “Ant-Man”. It will debut on July 6th 2018, taking the release slot previously marked for “Black Panther”.

As a result of that move, “Black Panther” has been moved forward several months and will now open February 16th 2018. On the flipside the “Captain Marvel” film has been pushed back several months and will now debut March 8th 2019.

Finally, release dates for three more mystery films have been set – May 1st 2020, July 10th 2020, and November 6th 2020. Their upcoming slate now looks like:

“Doctor Strange” on November 4th 2016

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” on May 5th 2017
“Untitled Spider-Man Reboot” on July 28th 2017
“Thor: Ragnarok” on November 3rd 2017

“Black Panther” on February 16th 2018
“Avengers: Infinity War Part I” on May 4th 2018
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” on July 6th 2018

“Captain Marvel” on March 8th 2019
“Avengers: Infinity War Part II” on May 3rd 2019
“Inhumans” on July 12th 2019
