Margo Martindale (“Justified”), Zoey Deutch (“Ringer”) and Rachel Brosnahan (“The Unborn”) are in final negotiations to join the cast of Richard LaGravenese’s supernatural love story “Beautiful Creatures” at Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures says Variety.
Based on the first novel in Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl’s popular series about teenage lovers Ethan and Lena (Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert) who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town.
Martindale will play Lena’s Aunt Del who helps to protect her from the family’s dark side. Deutch will play Emily Asher, Ethan’s ex-girlfriend and the ringleader of the high school’s popular clique that conspires against Lena. Brosnahan will play Genevieve, who appears as Ethan’s love interest in flashbacks.
Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum and Thomas Mann also star in the film which begins shooting next month in New Orleans. Broderick Johnson, Andrew Kosove, Erwin Stoff and Molly Smith will produce.
