“The Hobbit” and “Sherlock” star Martin Freeman has just found himself another TV gig.
The British actor and comedian is set to star in “Fargo,” FX’s TV series inspired by the 1996 Coen Brothers movie of the same name.
The ten-episode limited series will follow an all-new “true crime” story with a new case and characters.
Freeman is reportedly set to play sad sack insurance salesman Lester Nygaard, a role inspired by William H. Macy’s Jerry Lundegaard in the original film.
Freeman joins the already cast Billy Bob Thornton as portray Lorne Malvo, the manipulative man who meets Lester and sets him on a path of destruction.
Noah Hawley is penning and will executive produce the series alongside the Coens, Warren Littlefield and Geyer Kosinski.
Filming begins in October in Calgary and Canada for a spring 2014 premiere.
