Martin Denies “Thrones” Film Prequel Claims

Some confusion today surrounding HBO’s big-budget fantasy series “Game of Thrones”. The Daily Star has posted an article in which a source talks about a potential film spin-off of the show.

This one-off that would be set at an earlier time in the narrative and allow for the return of key characters:

“They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one off plot. That means that some of the big characters who fans have seen die on screen could be resurrected.”

There’s one problem though. George R.R. Martin, the author whose “A Song of Ice and Fire” series serves as the basis for the show, says the report is complete bull. Asked about it on his official blog he says:

“Yes, completely false. No one is working on any movie just now. And if there was a movie, it would not be about Robert’s Rebellion.”

The sixth season of the series is currently in production ahead of an April airing next year.
