Mark-Paul Gosselaar Joins Fox’s “Passage”

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has scored a leading role in FOX’s vampire series pilot “The Passage” which has also set Genesis Rodriguez, Saniyya Sidney, Brianne Howey, BJ Britt & Jennifer Ferrin for co-starring roles.

Ridley Scott’s Scott Free and Matt Reeves’ 6th and Idaho are producing the series based on Justin Cronin’s bestselling fantasy book trilogy which Liz Heldens is penning the adaptation of.

Marcos Siega will helm the pilot which takes place across two timelines and is described as an epic, character-driven thriller that morphs into a post-apocalyptic odyssey.

Sidney plays ten-year-old girl Amy Bellafonte who has special powers that allow her to communicate with ‘virals,’ terrifying monsters that once were human.

Through flashbacks, Amy tells her tale, which is directly tied to the genesis of these creatures. Gossellaar plays an FBI agent working for the secret Project Noah in which a drug is tested that unleashes psychic abilities.

Should it go to series, the project is eyeing a potential midseason launch. Filming begins in Atlanta this month.
