“Suicide Squad” and “The Legend of Tarzan” actress Margot Robbie is attached to star in “Queen of the Air” for Warner Bros. Picturs.
An adaptation of Dean N. Jensen’s 2013 novel, the story follows trapeze artist Lillian Leitzel and her tragic love affair with the tempestuous Alfredo Codona in the early 20th century.
Leitzel performed for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and had a signature move that required her to dislocate her shoulder at every turn. Both she and Codona met tragic deaths only a few years after falling in love.
Cat Vasko adapted the script while Andrew Lazar will produce. Robbie next shoots “Goodbye Christopher Robin” for Fox Searchlight.
