Thomas Mann (“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”) and John Goodman have joined the cast of Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ “Kong: Skull Island” for Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures.
The film is described as an origins story of the skyscraper-climbing gorilla and deals with an expedition to the mysterious island of his origins which is rumored to contain a mythical cure-all serum.
Goodman is set to play the government official who leads the expedition, Mann is one of the expedition team members. Filming begins in the Fall ahead of a March 2017 release.
Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell also star in the film which is being retconned so as to allow it to eventually see the onscreen team-up of it and the titular lizard from last year’s “Godzilla” reboot.
