Mangold Returns For “Cop Land” TV Series

Miramax and Starz have reportedly agreed to develop and co-finance a one-hour TV series based on James Mangold’s well-regarded 1997 feature “Cop Land”.

The film followed a suburban New Jersey sheriff who slowly discovers the town is a front for mob connections and corruption.

Mangold, Cathy Konrad and Adam Fields will executive produce, while Mangold and Bryan Goluboff (“The Basketball Diaries”) are writing the pilot.

The announcement is the first of several over the next two months that will see Colony Capital-owned Miramax become part of various joint venture opportunities and potential co-productions.
