Joe Manganiello (“Magic Mike XXL”) and Marley Shelton (“Scream 4”) are in talks to co-star with Dwayne Johnson and Naomie Harris in the film adaptation of the arcade game “Rampage” at New Line Cinema.
Released in 1986, the original Rampage put players in control of one of three monsters: A giant ape, lizard or werewolf. The monsters ran amok across the United States, fighting the military and destroying key landmarks.
Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal will rewrite the script by “Non-Stop” screenwriter Ryan Engle with the story involving Johnson going toe-to-toe with the game’s three beasties.
Manganiello’s character is the leader of a private military group, while Shelton plays a scientist/astronaut. This marks the third effort from Johnson, producer Beau Flynn, director Brad Peyton following “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” and “San Andreas”.
“Rampage” is slated to hit cinemas on April 20th 2018.
