Sunday: Full weekend estimates are in with “Man of Steel” scoring $113.1 million from Friday to Sunday, and $125.1 million since opening on Thursday night. That’s the second-best opening of 2013 (behind “Iron Man 3”) and the highest opening ever in June (ahead of “Toy Story 3” with $110.3 million).
Saturday AM: The early estimates are in with Warners Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Man of Steel” pulling in $44.1 million for Friday.
That figure includes $9 million for midnight showings, but not the $12 million for the Walmart Thursday evening screenings.
As of now the estimates are a domestic haul of $110-120 million for the Friday-Sunday, and around a $200 million global total by the end of the weekend. That estimate will be refined again when Saturday’s figures come in.
