Man of Steel On Track For $100M Opening

Tracking figures are indicating that the Superman reboot “Man of Steel” is heading for a $100 million opening weekend at the U.S. box office.

With very good early buzz from advanced screenings, Warner Brothers execs are projecting a domestic box-office haul of over $300 million.

“Iron Man 3” remains the highest-grossing film of the summer with $1.2 billion globally, but it’s thought that ‘Steel’ could slot in behind it if the word of mouth and international figures are as robust as the domestic numbers are looking.
