Mamet Has Penned A Weinstein Play

David Mamet has revealed that he has written a play about disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in a new interview with the Chicago Tribune.

Titled “Bitter Wheat,” Mamet says a Chicago stage veteran who has had recent success in films is interested in starring in it, but he wouldn’t say who.

Mamet says: “I was talking with my Broadway producer and he said, ‘Why don’t you write a play about Harvey Weinstein?’ And so I did.” No production plans or timeline for the play has been set.

Mamet previously tackled issues of sexual harassment in his controversial 1992 play “Oleanna” which was most recently revived in 2009 with a version starring Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles.
