Terrence Malick’s “Song To Song” makes its premiere at SXSW in a few weeks, and marks yet the latest project of the master filmmaker involving a massive ensemble of well known international acting talent.
For his next film though, Malick’s going more obscure as Screen Daily has new details on his already wrapped WW2 film “Radegund” including an updated cast list. The confirmed cast at present are August Diehl, Valerie Pachner, Matthias Schoenaerts, Bruno Ganz, Martin Wuttke, Maria Simon, Karin Neuhauser, and Alexander Fehling.
Schoenaerts and Ganz have certainly become known outside Europe, but the rest less so. On top of that two other more known names, Jurgen Prochnow and Michael Nyqvist, now seem to be out of the running.
The true story tale is a biopic of Austrian conscientious objector Franz Jegerstatter. Told through real wartime letters, this love story finds the couple in conflict with the members of their close-knit town, their church, their government, and even their friends.
The film is currently in post-production and is not expected to hit cinemas until 2018 at the earliest.
