Despite the fact he’s still tinkering with his most recent film, acclaimed auteur Terrence Malick (“The New World,” “The Thin Red Line”) is already about to begin work on his next project reports Tulsa World.
An open casting call and a call for crew members have both gone out in Oklahoma for a “family oriented Hollywood romantic drama”. The crew call lists the production company as Redbud Pictures, a company which lists Malick himself as manager.
The Oklahoma Film & Music Office won’t confirm the film though, saying “there is a major film slotted for September in the Bartlesville area, and one for October in the Oklahoma City metro, and these are high-quality productions and there’s casting going on and they are coming in.”
Producer Nicolas Gonda wasn’t so coy and has shown up in Bartlesville in readiness for the production. Ben Affleck, Rachel Weisz, Javier Bardem, Rachel McAdams and Olga Kurylenko are slated to star in the project.
Despite those linked with the project suggesting it’s still going to score a theatrical release this year, Malick’s most recent effort “The Tree of Life” is still presently unscheduled and recent reports have indicated the notoriously finicky filmmaker still hasn’t locked down a cut he’s happy with as yet.
