The producing team behind Netflix’s much talked about true-crime documentary series sensation “Making a Murderer” have taken steps to produce new installments for the streaming service says Variety.
The original ten episode series revolved around questions about the judicial process behind Avery’s 2005 conviction for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach as well as the related convictions of his nephew Brendan Dassey.
Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, who directed the first season, said this week that they have spoken to Steven Avery’s new lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, about the prospect of more filming and have continued to record their conversations with Avery.
how long it will take is unclear. The first season was famously a ten year process of reporting, filming editing and releasing. A follow-up would come much faster, but could still be a while off.
