After being rumored as a candidate, Michelle MacLaren has now signed on to develop and direct Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Wonder Woman” film which is currently targeting a 2017 release.
MacLaren will reportedly work with the project’s currently unnamed writers on the script for the standalone film which will star Gal Gadot, reprising her role from its first onscreen outing in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” which opens in 2016.
MacLaren is best known for her work as an executive producer and director of numerous episodes of AMC’s acclaimed “Breaking Bad”. She’s also taken the helm of well-regarded episodes of that network’s “The Walking Dead” along with HBO’s “Game of Thrones”.
Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder will produce.
