“The Machinist” and “Transsiberian” director Brad Anderson has been hired to helm the pilot episode of the live-action “Titans” series based on the DC Comics “Teen Titans” franchise.
The news comes from the official Directors Guild of Canada Ontario website (via TitansPodcast). Anderson has helmed several pilots in the past including “Frequency,” “The Brave” and “Forever,” and has directed plenty of drama series over the years including “The Wire,” “The Shield,” “Fringe,” “The Man in the High Castle,” “The Killing,” “Person of Interest,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Surface,” “Rubicon” and “Treme”.
In related news there’s a brief video today from Anna Diop, the actress who plays Starfire in the series. The video shows off her getting body and face scanned for visual effects tests for the series – suggesting production isn’t too far away.
The thirteen episode series will star Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Teagan Croft as Raven, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove, and Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach. It is slated to premiere next year on a new streaming service from DC.
