Machete, “Gravity,” “Color,” “Hard” Set Dates

A couple of key release date announcements today. First up, Open Road Films have set Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills” to hit theaters on September 13th.

Warner Bros. Pictures has locked in an October 4th release date for Alfonso Cuaron’s much-anticipated sci-fi epic “Gravity.”

“Primer” director Shane Carruth’s ‘Upstream Color’ will open in New York City on April 5th, Los Angeles shortly after, and then on VOD shortly after that. Carruth is self distributing the film.

Jean-Jacques Annaud’s “Day Of The Falcon” has been scheduled for release on VOD on February 1st and in theaters on March 1st in 15 markets. Antonio Banderas, Mark Strong, Freida Pinto and Tahar Rahim star in the project which went by the name “Black Gold” in other territories when it was first released internationally in late 2011.

Finally, Fox has announced a five-film “Die Hard” marathon starting with the original classic, all the way up to the upcoming “A Good Day to Die Hard”. The one day only event will take place on Wednesday, February 13th. Further details forthcoming.
