Seth MacFarlane, Sienna Miller, Simon McBurney and Annabelle Wallis have joined the cast of the network’s upcoming eight-episode limited series about Fox News founder Roger Ailes.
Based on Gabriel Sherman’s novel “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” Russell Crowe leads the eight-episode limited run as Ailes alongside Naomi Watts as Gretchen Carlson.
Miller plays former NBC news producer Elizabeth Ailes, who married Roger in 1998 and to this day, refutes any charge that her husband was less than innocent.
MacFarlane will take on the role of Brian Lewis, Fox News’ public relations chief for over 17 years and Ailes’ closest confidante and supporter.
McBurney will play the role of media magnate Rupert Murdoch. Wallis will play Laurie Luhn, a volunteer under Ailes’ mentorship who rose to head of booking at Fox News.
Kari Skogland (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) will direct the first two episodes and filming begins next month in New York. The project is separate to the film adaptation of the story starring John Lithgow as Ailes – that version is now in development at Focus Features.
