Lynch Set, Dates Locked For “Twin Peaks”

To coincide with their TCA panel, Showtime has released the first teaser art for the upcoming “Twin Peaks” revival this morning. There’s no markings, no quotes – just a “damn fine cup”. The network has confirmed production on the new episodes kicks off in September ahead of a 2016 airing.

Series co-creators Mark Frost and David Lynch are returning for the revival with Lynch set to direct all the episodes. Originally only nine episodes were planned, but that order has been expanded – to what number hasn’t been revealed at this point.

The original series followed the inhabitants of a northwestern town left stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) is shockingly murdered. FBI agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) comes to town to investigate, with his search setting off an eerie chain of events.
