It looks like David Lynch and Showtime have come to a deal after all following months of ‘negotiating in the press’.
Lynch himself has confirmed on Twitter that the “Twin Peaks” revival is back on, and that he himself will direct all the episodes. That’s not all though, apparently the network has expanded its original nine-episode order – though what the higher episode count is now is unclear.
Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement yesterday: “This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”
The scripts have reportedly already been written and everything is still on track for the new episodes to debut on the network sometime in 2016.
