Currently in the midst of production on James Wan’s “Aquaman,” actor Dolph Lundgren has teased via video on Instagram that he’s getting ready for his return to the “Rocky” franchise with the upcoming “Creed” sequel.
Sylvester Stallone has been teasing the return of Lundgren’s Ivan Drago character from the fourth film, but Lundgren hasn’t spoken about it. Today’s vid, with the caption “Getting ready for something big! @officialslystallone #Creed2 #IvanDrago” is the first real confirmation of his involvement by the man himself.
How Ivan Drago is going to factor into the film is unclear beyond the obvious storyline element – Drago killed Apollo Creed in the ring years ago, so Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed (Apollo’s son) will understandably be upset when he finally meets the man.
Stallone himself recently said that he is going to throw at least one punch in Drago’s direction. Specifics of when production will begin are unclear.
