Luketic Takes On The “Barbarella” Remake

Aussie director Robert Luketic (“Monster-in-Law”, “Legally Blonde”) is now the man in charge of the “Barbarella” remake reports Entertainment Weekly.

Luketic is working with producer Dino De Laurentiis on the update which will be developed with a new studio.

Robert Rodriguez had been attached to direct and Rose McGowan set to star in a previous version in development at Universal Pictures.

The sexy astronaut character debuted in 1962 in a French graphic magazine, but most notably came to fame via the 1968 film featuring Jane Fonda that De Laurentiis produced.
