Fox Searchlight has set an October 4th release date for “Fargo” and “Legion” showrunner Noah Hawley’s new directorial feature “Lucy in the Sky” starring Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm, Zazie Beetz, and Ellen Burstyn.
The film centers on a married astronaut who returns to Earth after a mission and begins an affair with a fellow astronaut. She heads into a downward spiral as she loses her connection to her family – a condition that can afflict those who spend a long time in space.
That’s not the only date announcement today as the Bill Skarsgard and Maika Monroe-led dark comedy “Villains” has been set for a September 20th nationwide release. The film arrives following rave reviews at SXSW.
The pair play lovers on the run who break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels. What they find instead is a dark secret and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners (Jeffrey Donovan and Kyra Sedgwick) who will do anything to keep it from getting out.
Finally, Lionsgate has announced that their comedy “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” will be released in cinemas on July 31st 2020.
Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig play the titular best friends who leave their small Midwestern town for the first time to go on vacation in Florida where they soon find themselves tangled up in adventure, love, and a villain’s evil plot to kill everyone in town. Jamie Dornan and Damon Wayans Jr. co-star.
