Without any prior announcement or warning, comedian Louis C.K. (FX’s “Louie”) has dropped an episode of his new web series “Horace and Pete” online.
C.K. and Steve Buscemi star in the 67-minute first episode of the series which is available for download on his website for $5. The episode takes place in an Irish bar in Brooklyn and features appearances by Alan Alda, Jessica Lange, Rebecca Hall, Aidy Bryant and Edie Falco.
Paul Simon has sung the theme song for the project which Gothamist describes as: “C.K.’s unique take on Cheers (plus a dash of Death Of A Salesman), with an emphasis on the depressing realities of life for barflies and bartending lifers. It definitely seems to lean far more toward the dramatic side than the comedic.”
The project will be one of the few we’ll see from the comedian who confirmed earlier this month that his acclaimed comedy series “Louie” is on indefinite hiatus with no plans as to its return at the moment.
