Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have terminated their relationship with disgraced comedian Louis C.K. for the sequel “The Secret Life of Pets 2”.
C.K. voiced the lead character Max, a Jack Russell terrrier, in last year’s animated smash hit which grossed $875 million worldwide and also starred Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper and Kevin Hart.
Universal and Illumination made a short one-sentence announcement on Friday afternoon and did not elaborate. No word on who will replace him in the sequel which is scheduled to open on June 7th 2019.
FX announced on Friday that in light of C.K. admitting the allegations against him were true, it is severing all ties with him.
