Rio Mangini (“Teen Wolf”) and Del Zamora (“Mayans MC”) have come onboard The CW’s series adaptation of 1987 cult horror film “The Lost Boys”.
Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight”) directs, Heather Mitchell (“Scandal) writes, and Rob Thomas (“Veronica Mars”) executive produces the new series set in sunny seaside Santa Carla, home to a beautiful boardwalk and a secret underworld of vampires.
After the sudden death of their father, brothers Michael (Tyler Posey) and Sam Emerson (Mangini) move to Santa Carla with their mother, Lucy (Kiele Sanchez), who hopes to start anew. But the brothers soon find themselves being drawn deeper into the seductive world of the eternally beautiful and youthful undead.
Zamora will play Frank, Lucy’s dad and a cantankerous old hippie who owns a local bed and breakfast and knows more about the town’s dark history than he lets on. Mangini takes over the Sam role which Corey Haim played in the original.
Sarah Hay, Cheyenne Haynes, Haley Tju, Medalion Rahimi and Dakota Shapiro also star.
