Loren Dean (“Gattaca,” TV’s “Bones”) has joined the cast of the indie drama “Betty Anne Waters” for Omega Entertainment says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows a working-class single mother ((Hilary Swank) whose brother is imprisoned for murder. To prove his innoncence, she earns a law degree and ultimately uses DNA evidence to get him released from jail in 2001, after 18 years.
Dean will play Rick Miller, her resentful husband. Sam Rockwell, Minnie Driver, Melissa Leo, Clea DuVall and Juliette Lewis are also in the cast while Tony Goldwyn (“The Last Kiss”) directs.
Richard LaGravenese penned the most recent draft. Andrew Sugerman, Andrew Karsch and Goldwyn are producing. Shooting is underway in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
