Lone Gunmen Return To “The X-Files”

The Lone Gunmen were a trio of supporting characters who featured on all nine seasons of Fox’s “The X-Files” and had enough fans to warrant their own short-lived spinoff series.

The conspiracy nuts and activists consisted of Langly (Dean Haglund), Frohike (Tom Braidwood) and Byers (Bruce Harwood), and all three ended up being killed in one of the episodes of the last season – going so far as to appear as ghostly visions in the mind of Mulder (David Duchovny) in the series finale.

Speaking with Televised Revolution this week, Haglund revealed that despite their onscreen death the characters will return for the show’s upcoming event series revival. The actor said: “Today they contacted us. We’re shooting July 28. The Gunmen are in the final six.”

They are just the latest supporting characters from the original show coming back, others set to return include Mitch Pilegg as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as the Cigarette-Smoking Man.
