He’s been Keira Knightley’s father and a Murdoch-esque James Bond villain, now he is set to play the President of the United States.
British thesp Johnathan Pryce will play the prez in Stephen Sommer’s big screen live-action adaptation of “G.I. Joe” for Paramount Pictures reports Latino Review.
The role is said to be small but integral to the plot, which has the elite co-ed GI JOE team fighting crooked arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious COBRA organization from plunging the world into chaos.
Meanwhile, ‘Joe’ creator Larry Hama tells Dark Horizons spy ‘Lindasfury’ that he’s already shot his cameo for the film as one of the generals that Destro (Chris Eccleston) is pitching his latest technology to.
Eccelston was apparently wearing Destro’s trademark red medallion necklace in the scene, whilst Duke (Tatum), Hawk (Quaid) and Zartan (Vosloo) were also a part of it.
Larry apparently “was able to help them fix things in the script that would have angered Joe fans and help it be closer to the comic book line he created…he likes the script, what they’ve done with it and thinks Joe loyalists will ultimately be happy with the movie.”
Finally, a cleaned up version of the film’s official logo is up at Slashfilm.
