The first prerelease box office tracking figures are out for the upcoming “X-Men” spin-off film “Logan” with Fox’s superhero action drama currently on course for a $55-$60 million domestic opening weekend.
That’s above the $53 million debut of 2013’s “The Wolverine,” but below the $85 million opening weekend of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in 2009. That said, these numbers are early and it could certainly go higher.
Reviews for the film are currently under embargo, but social media posts from those who’ve seen it suggest a wave of raves are incoming. To date the $70.8 million debut of “300” is the biggest R-rated debut in the month of March, might this beat it? Check out some new TV spots for it below, the film opens in cinemas on March 2nd.
