Lizzy Caplan (“Cloverfield,” “Masters of Sex”) is in talks to play the female lead in the Gore Verbinski-directed “X-Men” spin-off “Gambit” at 20th Century Fox.
Channing Tatum stars as Gambit, a cajun mutant whose ability involves controlling and manipulating kinetic energy – enabling him to weaponize projectiles including packs of playing cards he carries with him. He’s also an expert bo staff fighter.
Details of Caplan’s part are being kept under wraps but previous versions of the script suggest she’s likely playing the guild of assassins leader Bella Donna Boudreaux. “Gambit” is headed for a February 14th 2019 release.
