Liv Tyler has reportedly been offered the key role of Andy’s mother Karen in the upcoming “Child’s Play” film reboot at MGM.
That Hashtag Show reported the news, saying there’s no indication if Tyler has shown any interest or not. Catherine Hicks played the role in the original 1988 film in which a single mother gives her son a much sought-after doll for his birthday, only to discover that it is possessed by the soul of a serial killer.
“Polaroid” director Lars Klevberg is slated to helm the film which is written by Tyler Burton Smith. David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce.
The project is separate from the “Child’s Play” TV series in the works from creator Don Mancini. That show is expected to continue the storylines from the previous films in the franchise.
