Lionsgate has acquired “The Intruder” and “Traffik” director Deon Taylor’s new crime drama project “Free Agents” which is set against the backdrop of professional athletes.
The film sees pro football players turn to crime to get back at the owners who are exploiting and underpaying them. Taylor helms, produces and co-wrote the project with Joe Bockol. Roxanne Taylor will also produce.
The deal comes mere weeks after Lionsgate acquired Taylor’s psychological thriller “Fatale” starring Hilary Swank as a seductive woman who tricks a married man (Michael Ealy) into a murder scheme.
