Lionsgate Handles “Red State”

In a pact between Lionsgate and SModcast Picture, the former has acquired the rights to distribute Kevin Smith’s fundamentalist horror flick “Red State” in all packaged media, on VOD, SVOD, electronic sell-through and TV in the U.S. market says The Hollywood Reporter.

SModcast will retain the domestic theatrical distribution rights with Lionsgate rolling out the film on multiple platforms this September, followed by a disc release at the end of the year.

The project has grossed close to $1 million from around 15 single show theatrical engagements thus far.
