Lionsgate Developing “Saw: Legacy” Film

Lionsgate is set to revive its “Saw” franchise with word today from Bloody Disgusting that “Piranha 3D” scribes Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger are set to pen an eighth chapter in the torture porn franchise entitled “Saw Legacy”.

No story details were given at this time, and it isn’t known if Tobin Bell will reprise his role of notorious killer Jigsaw, in fact it isn’t known the new project will be a continuation or a reboot at this point. Original “Saw” creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell are set to executive produce this sequel.

The previous seven films cost a total of just $64 million to produce, and have earned a whopping $873 million at the worldwide box office. The last sequel in the series, “Saw 3D,” premiered in 2010.
