Lions Roars On November 9th

MGM will open United Artists’ “Lions for Lambs” sooner than expected – a nationwide release on November 9th.

Helmed by Robert Redford, the multilayered drama starring Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise, Derek Luke, Michael Pena, Andrew Garfield, Peter Berg and Redford is based on an original screenplay from Matthew Michael Carnahan.

Cruise plays a senator attempting to spin U.S. policy to a journalist played by Streep, while Redford plays an idealistic professor. The three storylines deal with the US war on terror.

Principal photography on the film began late January, marking the first production of the newly relaunched United Artists which Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner are in charge of.

The new release date puts it in competition with Warner Bros. Pictures comedy “Fred Claus” and Terry George’s “Reservation Road”.
