Linklater Considers “Bernadette” Next

“Boyhood” director Richard Linklater is already moving on to future projects and is in talks to helm the unconventional and quirky family drama “Where’d You Go Bernadette” for Annapurna Pictures.

Based on Maria Semple’s 2012 best seller, the story follows an agoraphobic architect and mother named Bernadette Branch who goes missing prior to a family trip to Antarctica.

It’s the way the narrative unfolds that’s distinct, the story is narrated by her 15-year-old daughter Bee Branch and is told through a series of emails, letters, F.B.I. documents, psychiatrist correspondence, and even an emergency room bill.

“Fault in Our Stars” writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber have adapted the script while Megan Ellison, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will produce.
