Rising screenwriter Lindsey Beer (“Sierra Burgess Is a Loser,” “Chaos Walking”) has been set to pen the “Hello Kitty” film adaptation in the works at New Line.
Earlier this year, New Line and “San Andreas” producer Beau Flynn closed a deal with Sanrio Corporation which sees the $6 billion iconic brand come to the screen for the first time.
The plan is reportedly for a four-quadrant movie with global appeal akin to “Detective Pikachu”, but it’s not clear if this will be a fully animated or hybrid film.
Beer has also done written work for “Transformers: The Last Knight” and the upcoming “Masters of the Universe” reboot. She will soon serve as showrunner and executive producer on Netflix’s adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic “The Magic Order”.
