Lin-Manuel Miranda Joins “Ducktales” Reboot

Multiple award-winning actor, playwright and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Hamilton”) has joined the voice cast of the new “DuckTales” series debuting this summer on Disney XD.

The lifelong DuckTales aficionado will provide the voice of fan-favorite character Gizmoduck, aka. Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera. The character is being slightly adjusted here, no longer Scrooge’s bumbling accountant – he’s now a brilliant young intern working for Scrooge McDuck’s personal mad scientist, Gyro Gearloose (whom has yet to be cast).

Miranda will recur alongside the regular cast of David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck; Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as the voices of Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively; Kate Micucci as Webby; Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack and Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley.

The series, produced by Disney Television Animation and based on the classic cartoons series, has already been picked up for a second season ahead of its highly-anticipated premiere.
