Liman, Lin, Fuqua & More Up For “Wolverine”

Eight names are reportedly all under consideration as potential directors of the Hugh Jackman-toplined actioner “The Wolverine” at 20th Century Fox reports Variety.

It has been two months since Darren Aronofsky dropped out of directing the project, with Fox’s replacement list now opting for helmers with some experience in helming action movies and in a few cases Summer tentpoles.

On the list now are Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity”), Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”), Mark Romanek (“Never Let Me Go”), Justin Lin (“Fast Five”), Gavin O’Connor (“Pride and Glory”), James Mangold (“Knight and Day”), Jose Padilha (“Elite Squad”) and commercials director Gary Shore.

Christopher McQuarrie penned the script which largely takes place in Japan. The floods and earthquakes earlier this year complicated plans to shoot the film so no production or release dates have yet been set.
