Iconic pop star Britney Spears will be getting a Lifetime telemovie biopic about her rise to fame and the ups and downs of her career both behind and in front of the cameras.
Natasha Bassett (“Hail, Cesar!”) is set to star as Spears in the two-hour film entitled “Britney” which will also explore the singer’s relationships with Justin Timberlake, Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.
Asylum Entertainment will produce the project and Leslie Libman (“Manson’s Lost Girls”) will direct from a script written by Anne-Marie Hess (“Perfect High”). Filming begins September 19th in Vancouver ahead of a 2017 airing.
Spears doesn’t appear to be affiliated with the production in any way. Her ninth studio album “Glory” is set for release this Friday.
