Lifetime has unveiled a bunch of new projects in the works with the most talked about being the horror anthology series “A Midsummer’s Nightmare” from A+E Studios.
Screenwriter Anthony Jaswinski is adapting the project which will take William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and turn it into a contemporary horror mystery. Future seasons will each tackle a different play. This season will follow two young lovers on a getaway in the woods who wind up in a struggle to survive as friends arrive to lure them home.
Other projects in the works include the “Unreal” spin-off “The Faith Diaries,” a autobiographical scripted TV series about Selena Gomez’s life as seen through the eyes of her friends as her career takes off, three telemovies about female empowerment which Ronda Rousey will produce, and a one-off film called “Sister Dance” based on the dance-off that tennis star Serena Williams holds every year with her sister Venus Williams.
