Lifetime Cancels “Devious Maids” Series

After four seasons, Lifetime has canceled the series “Devious Maids” from ABC Studios and “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry, the announcement comes just weeks after the fourth season wrapped in early August.

Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Judy Reyes, Susan Lucci, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin and Grant Show starred in the hourlong series for all four seasons which Eva Longoria executive produced.

‘Maids’ was one only two original scripted series at Lifetime, the other is the already picked up “UnREAL” which, much like USA’s “Mr. Robot” and HBO’s “True Detective,” was a critical darling in its first season but has been dismissed or even panned in its second run even as it still managed some awards recognition.

The cancelation also comes after a major rebranding for the A+E-owned cable network.
