20th Century Fox will unleash the first public look at Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi” from this Friday with copies of “Prometheus” says The NY Times.
However the film is taking a different approach to most others – what’s being shown is not a trailer, rather it’s several uncut minutes from the adaptation of Yann Martel’s best-selling coming-of-age survival tale.
Because the film reportedly takes a different approach to 3D, the new footage will only be shown with 3D screenings and will not be released online.
The plan of the studio is to show more scenes with the rest of its Summer slate including “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” and “Ice Age: Continental Drift”. A more conventional trailer will then follow in the Fall.
