With Fox’s 3D remake of cult 60’s sci-fi classic “Fantastic Voyage” having been stuck in limbo for some time now, it’s been thought that director Shawn Levy would likely move on. Now it would appear he has.
Deadline reports that Levy is looking into another project at Fox instead – their Max Landis-scripted new take on “Frankenstein”. As previously reported, this new interpretation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel will tell the tale through the eyes of Igor, Victor Frankenstein’s assistant.
The studio reportedly wants Levy and have begun conversations with a winter/spring shoot already being targeted. The desire to get this into production is no surprise considering the half dozen other “Frankenstein” film projects in development around town.
