Levinson Helms “Babi Yar” Holocaust Drama

Barry Levinson (“Wag the Dog,” “What Just Happened?”) is set to direct an adaptation of Anatoly Kuznetsov’s WWII classic “Babi Yar” for Aurora Entertainment reports


The story follows the author’s harrowing account of witnessing mass executions of Jews, gypsies, Poles and prisoners of war during the German occupation of Kiev. The title refers to a ravine where the atrocities took place.

The $35 million feature, funded by various Russian, Polish and Ukranian investors, will shoot in the Ukraine and Romania with pre-production kicking off in April. Anatoly Fradis (“Masked and Anonymous”) will produce.
