Last week actor Jared Leto suggested that his appearance in David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” was just the start of a likely multi-film run of him in the role. One of the next likely places for the Clown Prince of Crime to show up would be the Ben Affleck-directed “The Batman” film which is currently in the scripting stages.
Leto is all for that idea it seems, telling The Toronto Sun this week: “I think it would be incredible to see Batman and the Joker go head-to-head. This Batman and this Joker. I mean, I don’t know, that might be too much! But that would be fun.”
He also confirmed to the outlet that he’s not keen on walking away from the role anytime soon, saying he can: “easily just play the Joker a couple more times and then retire.”
Speaking of ‘Squad,’ Ayer revealed on Twitter today that the film was originally going to feature a villain that ended up being cut and replaced by Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). That villain? King Shark.
The reason was one of pure logistics – Ayer realised the half-shark man would require a lot of expensive CG work, but with Croc they could use prosthetics and so opted for that. King Shark has appeared on screen before, making two brief appearances on The CW’s “The Flash” last season.
